Why am I getting this upgrade?
- BlueZone is a significant cost savings to Chrysler.
- The previous version (OnWeb) no longer has vendor support.
- It is a better functioning application which runs on a win32
application. It requires Java only to launch the win32 application but
is not as impacted by Java upgrades as the previous client.
Do I have to do it now?
- You have to upgrade by 6/28/10 because the ability to use the legacy
application will no longer exist. If you have problems with the
upgrade, contact your I.T. support
or the Covisint Help Desk at 866-273-5038 for assistance.
What will change?
- The look and feel of the web page should be similar to what you are
already using. Along with your sessions there is a Dynamic Print
button that will allow you to perform mainframe printing from a locally or
LAN connected printer.
Network Requirements:
- The TN Server DNS is tn3270.extra.chrysler.com
- TN Server load balanced IPs 129.9.70.24 & 129.9.102.24
- We use port 443 but also have an option for port 3271
- We require two-way SSL connectivity
- We offer Proxy options but the client doesn't read PAC files so the address has to be hardcoded in the web browser
- It is recommended that you use the DNS name instead of hard coding the IP addresses since IPs change from time to
time
Computer Requirements:
- Operating Systems must be one of the following Windows Platforms: Windows XP - Windows Vista - Windows 7
- Browser must be Internet Explorer (IE) but we will do a best effort support for Mozilla.
- When a user clicks on one of our session buttons, the BlueZone Web-to-Host Control Module downloads and installs in the user's browser. This Web-to-Host Control Module is a Java Applet that controls the downloading and updating of BlueZone files from the web server to the user's machine. The user must have the rights to download and install this Java Control Module.
- The BlueZone Web-to-Host Control Module downloads the required files to the user's personal Application Data folder and then launches a pre-configured BlueZone secure SSL emulation session with the host. The user must have the ability to download files to their personal Application Data folder.
